Risk Prediction Service
OPC is continuously working on research and development to create risk prediction algorithms. Our team of clinical data scientists are working on several algorithms. Our aim is for these risk prediction algorithms to empower healthcare teams to identify cohorts of patients at risk of deteriorating health outcomes through advanced predictive analytics. This proactive approach enables clinicians to target interventions effectively, ensuring timely and personalised care for at-risk populations.

The LRISK risk prediction algorithm addresses two critical unmet needs.
-
Firstly, it serves as an affordable population-level screening tool, identifying high-risk cases early in the disease’s natural history. This early identification promotes effective primary prevention, allowing us to intervene before the disease progresses.
-
Secondly, LRISK uncovers undiagnosed advanced chronic liver disease cases by evaluating historic risk profiles, targeting fibrosis testing where it is most needed.
In support of the algorithm is our Liver Management Toolkit, which supports clinicians in taking the right action earlier for the patient leading to improved clinical outcomes.

Clinical Research
By integrating LRISK into clinical research, we can enhance patient targeting. The algorithm allows for the early identification of individuals at risk of severe liver disease, opening up opportunities for early intervention therapies. This not only improves patient outcomes but also expands the market for liver disease medications, including preventive treatments. Additionally, by identifying undiagnosed liver disease cases, we can target a previously untapped patient population, potentially increasing the demand for diagnostic tools and treatments.
Patient Identification
LRISK is a powerful tool for patient identification and combined with the Liver-Management-Toolkit, powered by LRISK, provides clinicians with actionable insights, enabling the delivery of personalised treatment plans. This ensures that patients receive specialised medications tailored to their individual risk profiles, improving drug efficacy and patient outcomes. By preventing the progression of liver disease and reducing hospital admissions, LRISK offers cost-effective healthcare solutions, aligning with value-based care models. This not only benefits patients but also positions us as a partner in cost-effective healthcare solutions.
Practice Change
The implementation of LRISK can drive significant practice change in the management of chronic liver disease. Early detection and management may reduce the need for expensive late-stage interventions, such as liver transplants or long-term hospital care.
