Research Project Manager

Our team, based in the UK and Singapore, evaluate real world data across a range of therapeutic areas from existing data sources in Europe, Asia and USA. This provides clients with a better understanding of the burden of disease, effectiveness or safety of pharmacological products and the impact of patient and environmental factors. With academic groundings in the respiratory field, our client base now includes pharmaceutical companies, governmental and charitable institutions.

Within our collaborative network of companies, including Optimum Patient Care, OPC Global and Cambridge Research Support, we analyse large scale clinical databases and conduct pragmatic clinical studies with the aim of:

  • Improving clinical care in chronic respiratory disease
  • Setting and improving research methods and standards
  • Nurturing international research collaborations

This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee the project management of research projects across the teams within Singapore and the UK. Working closely within a team of researchers, medical advisers, medical writers and statisticians the key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Project managing clinical database studies from proposal through to data dissemination, acting as the key contact for clients and project team members
  • Liaise closely with the research teams, clients and management team to ensure that timelines are managed and met accordingly
  • Assist the General Managers in prioritising and allocating workloads across the teams
  • Advising clients on the best approach to conduct research to meet their business needs and assisting with drafting the associated proposals
  • Developing the protocol for a study and assisting the statistician with the development of the statistical analysis plan
  • Gaining a deep understanding of healthcare data available and sourcing appropriate data for your studies
  • Conducting quantitative analysis with the support of medical statisticians
  • Preparing slides and final reports to deliver or present to study sponsors and steering committees
  • Critically reviewing the work of other members of the research team
  • Contributing as an author on abstracts, posters and manuscripts and occasionally travel to international conferences
  • Supporting the activities of our allied not-for-profit research and advocacy initiative – the Respiratory Effectiveness Group
  • There are also opportunities to design prospective, interventional, randomised controlled clinical trials in collaboration with the clinical research and operational team in OPC Global

Qualifications, skills and experience:

Essential skills & experience:

  • Project Management experience, ideally in a healthcare setting
  • Proven ability to lead and direct others
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Be a driven and adaptable person who will thrive in a cross functional international team
  • Fluency in English and demonstrated high quality written work
  • Scientific education with a degree in life sciences or a medical degree with research experience

Desirable experience:

  • Observational database research or epidemiology background
  • Experience of large datasets and coding language through use of statistical programmes such as SPSS, Stata, SAS, R or SQL

Contract and Salary : The role can be offered on a job share/part time basis to two employees permanently based in the UK and Singapore or on a full time basis for a candidate who is available to travel across both locations.

Immediate start is available. Salaries are dependent on qualifications and experience but will be offered in the range of £28,000-£35,000.
